What type of paper and inks do you use for your prints?
Currently all prints are printed on various archival matte papers with Epson Ultra Chrome inks, using an Epson Stylus Photo R1800 printer.  This combination should produce fade resistant prints that will last over 100 years.  To see the permanence ratings click here (note - the R800 uses the same inkset as the R1800).

How are your prints matted?
All prints are matted using archival Cotton Rag acid free mats and backings.  The print is attached to the backing using two archival mounting corners.  The mounting corners are not directly attached to the print, which allows for easy removal.  The mat and backing are held together using acid free linen hinging tape. 

What mat colors are available?
You can choose either a black or white mat for any print.  Simulated black and white sample mats are shown for each print to give you an idea of how the matted print will look.

What do the different sizes listed for each print mean?
Each print will have a size listing similar to this:

Print size - 6 x 9 inches (paper size 8 1/2 x 11 inches)
Mat size - 9 x 12 inches (5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch opening)
Frame size - 9 x 12 inches

The most important thing you need to know is the frame size since you will probably want to buy a frame to display the print (make sure the frame you purchase is thick enough to fit the mat and backing within it).  The mat size is the same as the frame size.  The opening size is the hole size in the mat.  These are the dimensions of the viewable image.  The print size is the size of the image on the paper.  The paper size is the actual size of the paper the print is on. 

Do you sell frames for your prints?
We don’t offer any frames for sale.  If we did we would only be able to offer a limited choice.  People usually want a frame that will match the decor of their room.  Therefore, we leave it up to the individual to decide which frame best suits their needs.

Do your limited edition prints come with a certificate of authenticity?
Yes, all limited edition prints are sold with a COA.  Affixed to each certificate is a tamper proof, numbered, hologram sticker.  A sticker with a matching number is affixed to the back of the print.  Click here to see a sample certificate.  Your COA will look exaclty the same except for the portions highlighted in red, which will vary from print to print.   Each print is also signed and numbered on the back in pencil.

The colors of my print look a little different than the one on the site.  Why?
There are many factors that determine the final output of a print, including type of paper, ink, and color space.  Our computer monitors are calibrated so the image appearance matches the print output.  Most computer monitors are not calibrated correctly or the correct calibration drifts slightly off over time.  This can cause your monitor to be too dark or too bright, have dull colors or too vivid colors, lack contrast or have too much contrast, or have a combination of these. Generally, images will appear brighter on your computer monitor as compared to paper. Each print that we ship is optimized to look it’s best and looks the way it should.

Will the watermark appear on my print?
No, the watermark only appears on the web image.  Also, the web image is a lower resolution version of the original.  Your print will be much clearer and sharper.

When can I expect my print?
Prints are usually shipped within 3-5 days from the order date.  Most of the prints are printed at the time of the order.  If any unexpected delays occur the buyer will be notified ASAP.
